BREAKING: Machete-wielding woman goes on street rampage in Brussels

A WOMAN has attacked three people with a machete in a suburb of Brussels.

Police have shot and wounded the woman – who reportedly attacked two people on a bus before going into the street.

She refused to stand down so police opened fire, according to local media, shooting her in the arm.

The woman reportedly stabbed on person in the stomach, and one in the back before fleeing to a nearby gallery, RTL reports

In the gallery she left one person with a minor wound before being stopped by the cops.

Mayor Armand de Decker told local media: “When police arrived the person threatened an old lady with a knife wickedly.

“The police ordered her to drop the knife, she did not.

“They shot her in the arm, and that was it done.”

The attack is reported to have started after the woman was heard having an argument.

The injuries sustained by the victims have been described as “non life-threatening.”

The press secretary of the mayor Armand De Decker confirms the two injured.

Police are investigating the motive for the attack.

Police sources have revealed that the woman was Asian and had a history of mental illness.

Detectives do not believe this was a terrorist incident, according to RT.

Brussels has been at the centre of a wave of shocking attacks this summer.
