Tough-talking prime minister Viktor Orban will use “all the tools at its disposal” to crack down on non-governmental organisations bankrolled by the Hungarian-born business magnate and investor.

Mr Soros has become one of the US Democratic Party’s main source of funding after ploughing millions into Hillary Clinton’s bid for the White House.

Szilard Nemeth, vice president of the ruling Fidesz part, said the groups linked to the philanthropist “serve global capitalists and back political correctness over national governments”.

His comments could refer to Mr Soros’ primary operator, the Open Source’s Institute, which campaigns for open borders and progressive politics.

This is not the first time Mr Orban, who supported Republican Donald Trump during the US presidential elections, has targeted the NGO’s linked to Mr Soros.

The billionaire, last year, vowed to invest nearly £400million in businesses started by migrants in a bid to step in where governments have failed.

Global financier Mr Soros is said to have written a multi-million cheque to Priorities USA, the primary PAC supporting Ms Clinton’s campaign, according to filings.

To which the president-elect accused Mr Soros of being part of a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions which have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities”.
